Running assessment

Running Assessment

Running is a skill which needs to be learnt properly. Like other sports, such as swimming and tennis, technique can mean the difference between winning and losing, and even the smallest adjustments can make a huge improvement.

So, if running is part of your health and fitness regime; whether it is park runs, marathons or triathlons; undergoing a running assessment is a wise investment and could lead to improved efficiency, speed and long-term protection from injuries.

At ESPH, we undertake a three-part assessment which analyses key areas of the body involved in running techniques. This includes looking at biomechanics, including movement through the foot when it lands; fitness levels, which look at your heart rate and cardio-vascular capacity; and running technique, which is recorded on a treadmill using slow-motion software.

From this data, our team will provide you with a clear plan for progression, including practical ideas of how to make corrections to style and other exercises that will build up strength where there is currently weakness.
